Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the gathering restrictions set forth in the Clay County recovery plan at Clayhealth.com/recovery , the Kearney board of aldermen have made the difficult decision to cancel all Kearney Amphitheater events for the 2020 season. This includes the July 3rd fireworks celebration. We look forward to being able to entertain you in the summer of 2021

CCPHC PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY ORDER - Released July 1, 2020 by Gary E. Zaborac, Director of Public Health for the Clay County Public Health Center and Health Officer for the County of Clay. Although Clay County remains in Phase 2, Step 2 of recovery, the Public Health Emergency Order was amended. Includes the allowance of 100% occupancy, if masks are worn by all and physical distancing is maintained. Set to begin 12:01 A.M., July 5th, 2020 and set to expire on 12:01 A.M., Monday, July 20, 2020, unless and until it is extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended in writing.

Republic Trash Service advises for driver safety, all trash must be placed within the trash container and the lid must be closed.
Additional trash left on the side will NOT be picked up.

Park Shelters Available for Rent

Lions Park

  • 6 total shelters, 1 stage
  • $35 rental fee for city residents, $45 for non-residents (All rentals are for a 3 hour time period)
  • Barbeque grills at each shelter
  • Electrical power only available with stage rental

Mack Porter Park

  • 1 shelter available
  • $35 rental fee for city residents, $45 for non-residents (All rentals are for a 3 hour time period)
  • Barbeque grill at shelter
  • Electrical power not available

Jesse James Park

  • 4 total shelters (2 by playground, 2 by pond)
  • $35 rental fee for city residents, $45 for non-residents (All rentals are for a 3 hour time period)
  • Barbeque grills at each shelter
  • Electrical power not available

Jesse James Pavilion

  • Select dates open for rental (must not interfere with Amphitheater or other park activities)
  • $300 rental fee for first 3 hours for city residents, $400 rental fee for first 3 hours for non-residents, $25 for each additional hour
  • Alcohol may only be served at the pavilion by Knights of Columbus
  • Electrical power available
  • No barbeque grills available

Shelter Rental Rules:

  • Renter and all guests must abide by all city park ordinances and posted playground rules at all times
  • Renter must place all trash in trash receptacles
  • No alcohol is allowed in any city park
